Quasimodo, Notre
Dame's bell ringer is in love with Esmeralda the gipsy, but Esmeralda
is in love with Phoebus (who doesn't?) and Frollo is in love with
Esmeralda. Well, you know the story! |

This is another
version of Victor Hugo's famous novel, with an excellent cast. The only
thing I didn't like is that, as usual, the story isn't closer to the
book. Know it now: in the original story Esmeralda dies! Difficult to
understand? Why nobody tries to follow the original story?
Anyway, the film is not bad, Anthony Hopkins is excellent as Quasimodo
and Derek Jacobi is great as the malevolent Frollo. But my Robert just
appears some minutes, enough to seduce Esmeralda (and me!). |
