Plot |
|
Joe Morris,
leader of an East End gang asks Sal Alford money for protection of her
Music Hall. Sal then turns to Hannay for help.
|
The Ally |
 |
Well, in this case the ally and the lady
in distress are the same person, Sal Alford (Diane Bull) whom we have
met before in Coup De
Grace.
In this episode she aks Hannay for help but she also helps him in his
plot to get rid of Joe. |
|
The "Hannay
Girl" |
 |
Finally
Sal gets a kiss from the hero? Mhh, not sure! Like most of the "Hannay
girls", Sal is an independent an autonomous woman, but this time she's
also a lady in distress.
In
this episode there's another "lady in distress", Florence Petersen,
Joe's fiancée and daughter of the gang's big boss, but she
loves a policeman instead!

|
The Bad Guy |
 |
Joe Morris (Garry Cooper) is more a clown
than an evil mind. He's just an East End thug, desiring more power,
money, and belong to a better and bigger gang. Hannay bluffs him
telling he leads a West End gang. As he wants to join them, Hannay
gives him stupid jobs like waiting all night for someone who will never
arrive, etc. |

This was a very funny episode. It was written by Michael Robson which explains why it's a good one!
